churches of other denominations that we think preach the scriptural Gospel.
Maui is a beautiful place, but even in paradise, sin is prevalent. For example, according to Sperling’s Best Places, “Maui County, Hawaii, violent crime, on a scale from 1 (low crime) to 100, is 50. Violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The US average is 31.1.”
If you were to consider the attendance of the 9 churches above, a liberal estimate would place about 1,200 people on the island under a regular Gospel influence. Though Maui is paradise is it paradise lost. We would even go as far to say it is paradise neglected. The people of Maui are people like everyone else who deserve full access to the Gospel like everyone else.
